Camping Reservations

The Department of Parks & Recreation offers permitted camping at designated beach parks and permitted lodging at the Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area. Before camping or lodging at our parks, please familiarize yourself with existing conditions and hazards and contact the department with any questions. 

Permits, which require a fee, are necessary in order to camp in County of Hawaiʻi parks. You may purchase permits online or in-person. To purchase permits and learn more about camping areas and rules, visit the following websites:
